StarBuddy Charitable Trust offers a unique fundraising concept to help financially support and raise awareness of charities, schools and groups associated with children dealing with severe illness, disability or special needs throughout New Zealand. We also proudly support St John Ambulance Association. The key difference with our concept is that the money stays in the town or region where it is donated.
Money raised from donations and merchandise sales helps us support so many wonderful organisations, charities and schools all around New Zealand.
Country Music Clubs throughout NZ have been very supportive to StarBuddy Charitable Trust.

WELLINGTON PRESENTATION
Sunday 16th November 2016 at the Porirua Club
Another very successful presentation was held at the Porirua Club for StarBuddy Charitable Trust on Sunday 16th October. The North City Country Music Club did pledges for two children and the Trust sponsored another one via merchandise sales.
We had three lovely kids and their families in attendance.
All boys received a $50.00 voucher from the Warehouse to buy themselves special. Joshua received a voucher courtesy of Strike Entertainment in Lower Hutt for him and his family to enjoy a session of Ten Pin Bowling plus a family pizza. Tawa Pools sponsored a 12 concession pass for Sasha to continue his swimming and Vincent also received a 10 concession swimming pass.
$450.00 was donated to Wellington Free Ambulance and it was lovely to have Helen come along and accept our cheque.
$225 was donated each to Kimi Ora School (re: Joshua), St Theresa’s School (re: Vincent) and Lindon Primary School (Sasha).
Thanks North City Country Music Club for your hospitality. The highlight for me was getting everyone to sing Joshua’s favourite song YELLOW SUBMARINE.
HAMILTON PRESENTATION
Tuesday 13th September 2016
Once again another very successful StarBuddy Presentation was held at Wilson Carlile Resthome in Hamilton on the 13.9.16
We had enough money in the kitty to do pledges for six local children.
This money came from Merchandise Sales, The Warehouse in central Hamilton (as part of their token scheme at checkout) and the residents at Wilson Carlile who got together and created beautiful handcrafts to sell at an Advent Fair last November.
Sadly one family with two children was unable to attend at the last minute but we had our hands full with four very energetic children.
A total of $1,350.00 was donated to The McKenzie Centre in Hamilton. They do a wonderful job supporting families with children aged from birth to early school age who have health issues.
Helen Gempton was at the presentation and accepted our cheque. They are going to put the money towards re-vamping a multi-sensory room for the children.
All the children attend The McKenzie Centre.
$900 was donated to St John in Hamilton and it was great to have Gaynor Morgan and Craig come along and tell us about what they do in the community.
Each child received a $50.00 Toyworld Voucher from the Trust.
Sincerest thanks to Launa Maxwell from Waterworld who kindly donated two concession passes for the Hydrotherapy pools.
Two children received vouchers to Chipmunks Playworld & Cafe courtesy of Faye Taylor and the other two children got to have a ride in a Truck courtesy of Hamilton Asphalts.
Matt was awesome with the kids and as you can see in the pictures, the smiles on their faces are priceless.
Thanks so much to everyone who made this day special.
To Sue Burton-Smith and your residents – you are just beautiful and we all appreciated a lovely afternoon tea to finish off the presentation.

MORRINSVILLE PRESENTATION
Saturday 25th June 2016
Another very successful StarBuddy presentation was held for Luke and William. Both boys come from Morrinsville and their StarPledge was donated by the Morrinsville Pakeke Lions Club.
Both boys were thrilled to go for a ride in a truck courtesy of Ben Fisher and Normans Transport.
A concession pass was kindly donated to Luke from Waterworld in Hamilton as part of his treat. William received a $50 Toyworld Voucher and Luke received specialty learning games from the Trust. Starbuddy was delighted to make a donation to Morrinsville St John Ambulance and presented a cheque to Eric Balvert.
Regional Co-ordinator for Parent 2 Parent and Altogether Autism - Carol Maynard was given a cheque from the charity to support families in the Morrinsville district.
Our sincerest thanks to all the truckies who offered to take these kids for a ride. We really appreciate your kind offer.
Ben was kind enough to take both boys for a ride and judging by the smiles on their faces, they just loved the experience.
TARANAKI PRESENTATION
Thursday 21st April 2016
REBECCA & JORDAN (Stratford), MAYCEE, COOPER (Hawera), OLIVER (New Plymouth)
StarBuddy Charitable Trust held a presentation for FIVE children from the Taranaki District on Thursday 19th May.
StarBuddy Charitable Trust was proud to do a presentation for Rebecca at the recent MARTON COUNTRY MUSIC FESTIVAL (January 2016)
Rebecca received a certificate and purple ukulele as a gift from StarBuddy Charitable Trust. Focal Point Cinema and Cafe in Feilding donated cinema passes for the family as her treat.
Her school, South Makirikiri, will receive a donation from the Trust to buy special equipment like musical instruments or books and Graeme Bradley from Marton St John Ambulance was at the presentation to accept a donation as part of Rebecca’s pledge.
Dad Andrew Marsh said Rebecca, who has cerebral palsy, was delighted with her treat and will get a lot of benefit from playing the ukulele. “The cerebral palsy mostly affects her right side, so it will be good for her to use her left hand for the fingering and strum away with her right.”
All throughout New Zealand, there are literally hundreds of children dealing with Cancer, Spina Bifida, Aspergers, Muscular Dystrophy, Angelman’s Syndrome, Blindness, Downs Syndrome, Kidney problems and Autism just to name a few.
We, as a Trust want to acknowledge the families and the children themselves for what they go through on a daily basis. Our aim is to create a special event the child and family will never forget.
We talk directly to the family and find out what would be an appropriate gift or memorable treat for the child.
Music is a big part of what we do as a Charity and is a big factor in how we create our StarPledges*
We’d love to encourage children to become more actively involved with music in some way. We have access to DVD’s, CD’s, ukulele’s and other smaller instruments.
Laura-Joy received a $50.00 gift voucher from the Rock Shop and they added to it to purchase a Glockenspiel.
We also have a number of Top Country Entertainers throughout NZ on board with our concept who are only too happy to help us create a special occasion.
We are able to arrange rides in Trucks, Ferrari’s, Hotrods or Classic Cars. Maybe a day out at the Zoo would be more appropriate.
We can organise movie tickets and even arrange to ‘Adopt A Star’ in the night sky for the child. The list is endless and we as a Trust will endeavour to make the occasion one to remember.
Pirongia Clydesdales kindly offered to take StarBuddy #5 – Ryan and his family for a ride around the township.
